CEO & Founder of OccamzRazor
I’m the CEO and founder of OccamzRazor, a startup using machine learning to find treatments for brain aging diseases, starting with Parkinson’s disease. In partnership with the Stanford AI lab, OccamzRazor built machine learning algorithms that can read, extract, and process information from scientific reports and clinical data. We’ve mapped all existing scientific knowledge about Parkinson’s disease and, using predictive algorithms, are now pinpointing what goes wrong inside cells that eventually lead to this disease. We are partnering or have received grant funding from leading institutions in Parkinson’s and Machine Learning, like the Michael J Fox Foundation, the Sergey Brin Family Foundation, and Stanford. We’ve raised over $5M of funding from investors including Jeff Dean, the Chief of Google AI and founder of Google Brain, Techammer and DA Wallach. In my previous career as a scientist, I discovered new types of stem cells that can grow into coronary arteries, a breakthrough that can lead to new treatments for heart disease. I was the first to receive a PhD in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine from Stanford University, completing my studies in a record time of two and a half years. I have delivered keynote presentations and spoken at numerous events throughout the world such as SciFoo, United Nations Novus, United Nations Nexus, WIRED AI, CogX, Founders Forum Health, MIT Brain Mind, Google X, Dreamforce.
