Joshua Bernstein recently joined EMC as the new VP of Technology for the Emerging Technologies Division. Prior to EMC, Joshua ran the Siri Deployment and Infrastructure Architecture team at Apple for 4 1/2 years. As a member of the small team, Joshua and his colleagues successfully took Siri from launch to sixty thousand servers, deploying in seventeen locations worldwide. Prior to working at Apple, Joshua was the senior software engineer at Penguin Computing specializing in design and implementation of large scale distributed systems management software. In addition, he has worked on many high profile NASA missions, including the design for the image processing pipeline of the HiRISE Camera currently on board the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Joshua is a large contributor to the Open Source community, contributing to multiple projects including Mesos, HDFS, HBASE, Zookeeper, Samba, OpenMPI, Torque, and the Linux Infiniband Stack. John Prausa

Maureen Cragin

Maureen Cragin is vice president of Communications for Boeing Defense, Space & Security. Based in St. Louis, Cragin is responsible for leading all communications strategy and planning for the business. Prior to her current position, Cragin led communications for Boeing Defense, Space & Security’s Network & Space Systems business from December 2007 to October 2009. She was previously vice president of Communications for Boeing’s Washington, D.C. Operations office. Before joining Boeing in 2002, Cragin was appointed by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate as assistant secretary for Public and Intergovernmental Affairs at the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), beginning in 2001. While serving at the DVA, Cragin directed policies governing the department’s public and internal communications programs, as well as intergovernmental and consumer affairs activities. Prior to her presidential appointment, Cragin was director of Congressional Relations for Raytheon, in which capacity she oversaw advocacy efforts for Raytheon’s U.S. Navy and Marine Corps programs. From 1995 to 2001, she was director of Communications for the Committee on Armed Services in the U.S. House of Representatives. She was the committee’s principal spokesperson, developing communication strategies for advancing committee goals, such as the passage of the annual defense authorization bill. Previously, Cragin provided consulting services to the U.S. Department of Energy and served as public affairs adviser and spokesperson for the Women’s Bureau and Glass Ceiling Commission at the U.S. Department of Labor. She also served as director of volunteer administration at the 1992 Republican National Convention in Houston. Cragin holds a bachelor’s degree from the United States Naval Academy. She served seven years on active duty and continued serving as a public affairs officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve until her retirement at the rank of captain in 2009. Cragin is a member of the Reserve Officers Association, the Association of the United States Navy, the Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion. She also serves as chairman of the board of directors of the USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore.

Jack House is vice president of Supplier Management for Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), based in St. Louis. In this role, he leads an organization of about 2,500 employees that manages the annual purchase of $15 billion in products and services. He is responsible for all procurement matters, including policymaking, subcontract oversight and process improvement. The organization focuses on improving supplier performance and relationships, while providing the best value for customers and a competitive advantage for Boeing. In September 2012, House was appointed the enterprise program manager for “Partnering for Success,” a company-wide, long-term effort to engage supplier partners to sustain a competitive advantage in the cost, quality and reliability of Boeing products and services. The effort aims at working aggressively to improve first-time quality and reduce costs. Since its inception, PFS efforts have garnered several billions of dollars in cost savings, which have allowed Boeing and the supply chain to provide “more for less” to its commercial and government customers around the globe. Previously, House served as vice president of Procurement Contracting & Risk Management. In this position, he worked with programs to oversee BDS procurement strategies and pricing policy for proper risk management on all supplier transactions. He was responsible for ensuring subcontracting policy compliance, as well as review of contractual pricing, terms and conditions and all other supplier agreements. In his career with Boeing, House has also served as general manager of Supplier Management & Procurement for the St. Louis site and Global Strike Systems for Integrated Defense Systems, director of Finance for the KC-767 Tanker program, as well as director of Supplier Management & Procurement for Military Aerospace Support and Production Aircraft Programs in St. Louis. He holds a MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Gena Lovett is the vice president of Operations for Defense, Space & Security. Her primary responsibilities include production of all fixed-wing tactical aircraft, tankers, transport aircraft, rotorcraft, satellites and weapon systems. Lovett serves as deputy leader of the Boeing Operations Leadership Team (BOLT). The BOLT is responsible for encouraging the use of common metrics, systems and processes, as well as the replication of best practices throughout Boeing. She has more than 20 years of leadership experience in manufacturing and operations. Before joining Boeing, Lovett was chief diversity officer for Alcoa, where she was responsible for cultivating a work environment that encouraged and supported diversity and inclusion at all levels of the organization. Under her leadership, Alcoa won the 2013 Catalyst Award and the Human Rights Campaign’s 2014 Corporate Equality Award. Prior to this, as Alcoa’s director of manufacturing Lovett led the successful turnaround of a historically underperforming operation. Under her direction safety improved almost 80 percent, on-time delivery rose 50 percent, productivity grew 45 percent and employee engagement increased 24 percent. Lovett spent the previous 15 years in progressively demanding manufacturing roles with Ford Motor Co. in Cleveland; Dearborn, Mich.; Chicago; Atlanta; and Allen Park, Mich. Her last assignment at Ford was plant manager of Prototype Operations. She has a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Ohio State University and a master’s in international business from Baker College’s Center for Graduate Studies.
