Elizabeth Connolly
Co-Founder, President of Trifecta
After leading teams at various software companies, Elizabeth wanted to bring the convenience of a subscription service to her passion for food and fitness. Being a lifelong runner and resident crossfitter, she learned that training is 20% of the battle, leaving the daily struggle to eat healthy as the remaining 80%. Seeing friends and family struggle to eat healthy as much as she did, Elizabeth wanted to provide a failsafe method to eating healthy food. Along with her brother and co-founder Greg, she believes nutrition is the first step to overhauling all aspects of our lives and becoming the best versions of ourselves.

Surya Jayaweera
President and Founder of GXB Interactive
Surya Jayaweera is an American entrepreneur, inventor, and angel investor. In May of 1996 Surya graduated from Harvey Mudd College with a B.S. in Engineering. Soon after graduating college, while sitting at a park reading a Popular Science article about Motorola’s new PageWriter, Jayaweera hatched an idea for a breakthrough software application that would allow consumers to visit websites wirelessly, using a 2-way pager. Surya drove 240 miles to Las Vegas and pitched the idea directly to Motorola during COMDEX, a computer trade show. In early 1997, while at Motorola’s headquarters in Florida, they were able to strike a deal. And with that, WolfeTech Development Corporation was formed. The breakthrough app, PocketGenie, was officially launched in 1998 and it was the first information-on-demand software app made commercially available for the Motorola PageWriter 2000 and Research In Motion (BlackBerry Limited) RIM Wireless Handheld devices. PocketGenie allowed consumers access to over 200 pre-set informational services such as flight times, weather forecasts, movie times, among others. At its height, Surya grew WolfeTech to an $85 million dollar company while simultaneously employing over 50 people. In 2005, Surya launched a second tech startup, GXB Interactive, which developed interactive learning games for Nintendo’s handheld gaming consoles: Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS. To do this, GXB formed a partnership with TOMY Company, ltd., one of the oldest toy companies in the world, and together they brought the games to market. The most notable releases were two games for Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance, Math Patrol – The Kleptoid Threat (2007) and Word Safari: The Friendship Totem (2007). GXB’s most recent project, MIDI Piano Teacher MusicMaster, was an app released for Android in 2015. Surya is also a member of the Southern California investment network, Tech Coast Angels, which is the largest angel investor group in the world. In 2011, Jayaweera was the youngest elected president of the network (Inland Valley Network) and also served as an Executive Board Member in which he oversaw a $3 million sidecar investment fund. While no longer having an official leadership role in the group, Surya continues to advise and mentor multiple startups, which includes having acted as an advisor for the US Small Business Development Center to assist entrepreneurs.
