He spent the first chunk of his working life becoming an industrial automation guru and, as a bonus, a pretty top notch machinist and a fairly decent manager. When he grew tired of travelling, 12 hour shifts on his feet, and the constant risk of dismemberment, he switched gears and now sells keystrokes instead.

His research interests are focused on electro-thermal package/die modeling and reliability simulation of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Safe Operation Aare (SOA) for power devices and SPICE macro model extraction of power electronics system. His accomplishments include development of a “Chip to Package and System (CPS) analysis methodology” for power IC process, power device design and electronics system design. Chan-Su received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronic engineering from Chung-Ang University, Korea in 1986 and 1993, and Ph.D. degree in Integrated Systems Laboratory of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ), Switzerland in 2000.

Prior to CNN, Topher spent two years at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta performing site maintenance and SEO. As the SEO coordinator for CNN’s digital news properties (including CNN, CNN International, HLN, CNN Mexico and iReport), he realized a 25 percent increase in traffic from search year to year and oversaw the two largest volume search traffic days in CNN’s history in the days leading up to the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections.
