Tom Bliss
Founder of Triple R Affordable Aircraft LLC
As the publisher of AVweb (since 2012), Tom Bliss is also Chairman of the Triple R program and an active owner-pilot with 2,300 hours in 26 different airplanes, with instrument and commercial tickets. “It’s a balancing act that is sometimes overwhelming but never dull,” he says. Tom joined AVweb after running Bliss Marketing Communications, a technology-focused marcom agency in Phoenix for 28 years and servicing some 300 clients in five states with a progression of airplanes beginning with a Mooney M20C and moving up to an A36 Bonanza and eventually a Cessna P-210N Centurion. Before the agency, he managed marcom for divisions of Sperry Flight Systems (now Honeywell) and Collins Avionics. Tom’s first marketing job was at Cessna in the days when Wichita produced hundreds of airplanes every week. Although those days are long gone, he thinks there is a strong future ahead for GA but in a different way than you might think. All things that fly fascinated Tom as a kid growing up in Ames, Iowa, including his first trip to the local airport fly-in circa 1960. A flight in a 172 float plane at age 10 and a few airline flights by age 12 were as close to the yoke as he was able to get. But at age 15, a friend’s dad took Tom flying in a new Mooney executive with curtains and a fake wood instrument panel no less and after an hour of flying from the right seat, “my life would never be the same”, he says. A year later, in 1971, he was 16, a junior at Ames High school in Ames, Iowa and a part time line boy, pumping gas and washing airplanes in the afternoons and learning to fly Saturdays and at night. He soloed after six hours at Goodrich Aviation, a Cessna Pilot Center. A year later, thanks in part to a swimming scholarship at Arizona State University, he passed his Private Pilot check ride via the University’s Aero Tech program and later earned a commercial license. Tom has also owned a share of a Mooney M-20C and was the sole owner of an A-36 Bonanza before trading up to the pressurized 185-knot Cessna P210N Centurion.

Isaac Mashman
CEO/Founder of Mashman Ventures
Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida Isaac Mashman is a businessman, podcast host, speaker, and private investor who first got involved in business in 2017. Coming from a rather “humble” family, through business Isaac realized that there was more to life than struggle and stagnancy. It was the perfect solution to his childhood problems. Since starting his journey he has had the opportunity to become the first person in his family to ever travel internationally, has been to multiple states and cities including New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Miami. He’s hosted two podcasts, and in April of 2020 he launched his very own company Mashman Ventures. One of the largest things he attributes to his success has been personal development. He recognized early on that if one was not growing as an individual the chances were, no other areas of his life would be growing either. This is why Isaac launched his newest podcast, “Chase the Vision with Isaac Mashman” and has made it his goal to share his experiences, knowledge, and lessons he has learned along the way with as many people as possible, thus helping them become more capable and in return get the results they want in life. Peter Knights
Founder and Executive Director of WildAid
Peter Knights was formerly a program director working on illegal wildlife trade with Global Survival Network and a senior investigator for the Environmental Investigation Agency. He specialized in conducting global on-site investigations and campaigned against the trade in wild birds for pets and the consumption of endangered species in traditional Chinese medicine, such as bear gallbladder, rhino horn, and tiger bone. On birds, this work led to over 150 airlines stopping the carriage of wild birds and the Wild Bird Conservation Act, which cut imports of wild birds into the US from 800,000 to 40,000. In 1996 while working across Asia, Peter created the first international program aimed at reducing demand for endangered species products. He received an Associate Laureate of the Rolex Award for Enterprise for this work. The program used sophisticated advertising techniques, donated airtime, and celebrity spokespeople with the message “When the buying stops, the killing can too” and has over 100 actors, athletes, and musicians appearing in its campaigns. In 2011 it raised $200 million in donated media in China alone. The campaign Peter started on shark fin is attributed with helping to reduce demand for fins by 50-70% in China in 2012 and helping to secure bans in a number of US states.Peter has served as Executive Director of WildAid since its founding in 2000.
