Hamdi Ulukaya
Founder & CEO of Chobani
Hamdi Ulukaya is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Chobani. After moving to New York from his native Turkey, Hamdi found that in America, yogurt just wasn’t as delicious and widely available as it was back home. Just nine years after Chobani started, it has become the #1 Greek yogurt brand in the U.S.

Patrick Brown
Co-Founder & CEO of Impossible Foods
Patrick O. Brown is CEO and founder of Impossible Foods, a company at the forefront of making nutritious, delicious meat and dairy products from plants to satisfy meat lovers and address the environmental impact of animal farming. The idea for Impossible Foods came to Pat while he was on sabbatical from his position as an HHMI investigator and professor of biochemistry at the Stanford University School of Medicine. In reflecting on how he could use his training and experience to make the largest positive impact on the world, he realized there was a way to make delicious, affordable meat and dairy products, directly from plants – that would be better for the environment and for consumers. In 2011, Pat chose to devote himself full time to Impossible Foods. After receiving his BA, MD and PhD (in Biochemistry) at the University of Chicago, Pat completed a residency in pediatrics at Chicago’s Children’s Memorial Hospital. As a fellow with Mike Bishop and Harold Varmus, he defined the mechanism by which HIV and other retroviruses incorporate their genes into the genomes of the cells they infect. At Stanford, Pat and colleagues developed DNA microarrays – a new technology that made it possible to monitor the activity of all the genes in a genome – along with the first methods for analyzing, visualizing and interpreting global gene expression programs. He pioneered the use of gene expression patterns to classify cancers and improve prediction of their clinical course. He has also been a leader in making scientific and medical research results freely available to scientists, physicians and the public. With Harold Varmus, then Director of the National Institutes of Health, and Berkeley professor Michael Eisen, he founded the Public Library of Science, a nonprofit scientific publisher that has transformed the publishing industry by making scientific and medical research results freely available to the public. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Medicine and recipient of the American Cancer Society Medal of Honor. He is also the co-founder of Lyrical Foods, Inc., maker of Kite Hill artisanal nut-milk-based cheeses and yogurts.

Ooshma Garg
Founder & CEO of Gobble
Ooshma Garg already has started two successful businesses – one that she recently sold and another that has attracted over one million dollars in venture capital. In 2008, she created Anapata, an online site that matches students looking for jobs with potential employers, mostly in the legal field. After three years of sleepless nights, bootstrapping (keeping the business self-sustained without raising any outside money) and developing Anapata, Garg sold it to the legal company LawWerx. Garg says she feels she’s finally found her niche and true passion with Gobble, a dinner delivery service that creates 10-minute 1-pan fresh dinner kits for busy professionals looking for a healthy and quick alternative to takeout. The idea came from Garg’s own struggles to eat well while running Anapata. With a demanding schedule that often left her eating in her car, Garg says she was looking for a way to get home-cooked meals at a reasonable price. She started by delivering prepared meals from local chefs and eventually progressed to hiring cooks and chefs in her own Gobble commercial kitchen. With the hiring of Executive Chef Thomas Ricci, Garg invented Gobble’s now flagship product, the 10-minute 1-pan dinner kit, providing her customers with both the speed of takeout and the satisfaction of cooking at home. The strategy paid off with Garg scoring some top investors in Silicon Valley – including LinkedIn Co-founder Reid Hoffman – raising over $1.2 million in seed capital for her business.

Marcus Urann
Founder of Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc.
Lawyer and cranberry farmer Marcus L. Urann developed a recipe for a cranberry sauce that could be prepared in very large batches and canned, and organized the Ocean Spray Preserving Company to sell it beginning in 1912. Sales of the cranberry sauce greatly increased the market for the fruit, and in 1930 he engineered a merger with his two main competitors to form Cranberry Canners Inc., a cooperative that soon came to include cranberry growers in Oregon, Washington, and Wisconsin. The co-op was renamed National Cranberry Association in 1946, and after Urann’s retirement in 1955 it was renamed again to reflect its best-selling product, becoming Ocean Spray Cranberries. Urann, who died in 1963, also founded the honor society Phi Kappa Phi while he was an undergraduate at the University of Maine in 1897.

Todd Markley
Founder of Success Meals
As the founder and creator of Success Meals KC™, Todd Markley has more than a little bit of experience in the world of fitness and nutrition. Todd’s passion for the fitness industry began in his early twenties. Owning a gym, personal training and even competing himself in national bodybuilding championships were all part of his beginning of living a “fitness focused” life. During his personal training years Markley worked with a myriad of different people. The one common thread he noticed among all these people was that while they shared a commitment to fitness and the desire to be lean and toned few were actually making steady progress toward their eventual goals. Todd knew his clients were working hard in the gym, so he began to question these people about their lifestyle and nutrition habits.

Mitchell Koulouris
CEO, Founder & Chief Chocolatier of Imagine Chocolate
Mitchell Koulouris is the creative force behind Imagine Chocolate. Mitch has been involved in the music industry since he was a teenager. He’s combined his two passions — chocolate and music — to create Imagine Chocolate, “Gourmet Chocolate That Rocks!” Mitch began making chocolate in the early 2000’s while he was CEO of Digital Music Group, then the world’s largest independent distributor of digital music tracks to iTunes and hundreds of other digital stores.People were so impressed wit the chocolate — in both quality as well as creativity of flavors — that friends encouraged Mitch to sell his chocolate as a retail product. Mitch resisted the urge to market and sell a new chocolate product. But after years of urging by his friends he decided to go ahead. But Mitch didn’t want to create “just another chocolate product in a brown and gold box”. He wanted to come up with something cool that chocolate lovers would get excited about. That’s when he came up with Imagine Chocolate, a musically themed individual serving assortment where each truffle is named after and inspired by a song. The rest is, as they say, history. And Imagine Chocolate was born. Before founding Imagine Chocolate, Mitch has had an illustrious career in music and technology. In 2004 he founded Digital Music Group, Inc. Through his vision and leadership as CEO, Mitch quickly grew DMGI to become the world’s largest digital music distributor, exclusively controlling over 2 million tracks of music — approximately 20-25% of the music content on iTunes at the time. He took DMGI to a NASDAQ IPO in early 2006. Mitch is a respected figure in the music industry. He is a GRAMMY Voting member and served on the GRAMMY Board of Governors twice. He continues to be involved in the music industry. Mitch has also made albums with such Classic Rock stars such as Todd Rundgren, Micky Dolenz (The Monkees), Eddie Money, and Mickey Thomas (Starship). Prior to founding DMGI, Mitch was Founder and CEO of Informant Communications Group, a leading publisher of advanced-topic software development magazines for Microsoft, Borland, and Oracle technologies among others. Mitch began his career in music as a teenager, landing a coveted job at Tower Records. Mitch spent 13 years with Tower, the latter of which where he was Director of Store Services. Mitch is a music nut and an avid runner. He also is a Presidential history buff and chocolate lover.
