David Lortscher
Co-Founder & CEO of Curology
David Lortscher, MD, is a licensed physician and a board-certified dermatologist. While working at a small but very busy dermatology practice in New Mexico, Dr. Lortscher saw that there were economic, geographical, and psychological barriers to seeing a dermatologist. He also noticed how changes in a person’s skin can have a tremendous impact on his or her life both socially and emotionally – and that’s when he had the idea to create Curology. Since its launch in 2014, Curology has been dedicated to removing barriers and helping people feel good about their skin. In addition to seeing patients at Curology, Dr. Lortscher serves as a remote dermatology consultant for the American Academy of Dermatology’s AccessDerm program.

Diishan Imira
Founder & CEO of Mayvenn
Diishan Imira is the founder and CEO of Mayvenn, a technology company that re-shapes how sale retail products are distributed. Graduating from Georgia State’s business school in 2010, Imira has a vast background in international trade, logistics, and investment. Straight out of college, Imira lived in China for two years and built a successful import/export company, running it profitably for about four years. Imira has lived and worked in several countries, including China, France, Brazil, and Ethiopia. Imira also speaks conversational Mandarin. Imira founded Mayvenn in 2012 with co-founder Taylor Wang. The company empowers the 95 percent of African American salons that do not retail products. Their commerce solution eliminates a salon’s inventory cost and opens a new revenue stream for their business. In April 2013, Mayvenn was accepted into the 500 Startups accelerator program. When they got to the program, other entrepreneurs were confused — questioning the probable success of the startup in Silicon Valley. It was unlike anything they had seen before. But that was only half the battle for the startup geared predominantly towards black consumers. During the summer of 2013, Imira and Wang stayed in Mountain View, Calif. where they immersed themselves into the cut-throat culture of the Valley and introduced their product to several investors. By August, they had raised $750,000 in investment funding and in October 2013, Mayvenn was officially launched. As of 2015, the company had raised $3 million in venture capital funding and has a network of over 25,000 stylists. With the continued mission to involve hair stylists in the process of buying and selling products, Imira and Wang’s goal is to eventually expand Mayvenn into an online platform that sells not only hair extensions but other hair care products, as well.

Jerrod Blandino
Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer of Too Faced Cosmetics
Too Faced Co-Founder and Creative Director Jerrod Blandino got his start behind the department store makeup counter in the mid ‘90s. He quickly realized that just a few minutes in the makeup chair could transform and empower his clients. He recognized that makeup is so much more than a little color on a woman’s face—it is an instant mood booster, a best friend, and a powerful ally. Jerrod would spend nights mixing eye shadows with lipsticks to make brand new products, and days testing his creations on clients. Women loved his approach. The products were fun and feminine and embraced beauty individuality—not beauty rules. Encouraged by his makeup counter clients, women he lovingly called “Too Faced” because they would turn from sweet to sour if he was out of their favorite lipstick, Jerrod decided to start his own line. With only a credit card and a vision, alongside his new partner and future husband Jeremy Johnson, he began meeting with professional makeup labs to develop his products. He quickly became known as a beauty industry game-changer, inventing the world’s first glitter eye shadow, plumping gloss, and 24-hour crease-proof shadow primer. Inspiration came from everywhere: a classic movie, a chocolate facial at a spa in Hawaii, the flushed radiance of a woman fresh off the slopes. Though young Hollywood has fallen in love with Too Faced, Jerrod has stayed committed to the everyday customers whose support helped the brand become what it is today. Today, Jerrod believes in the power of makeup more than ever—pretty on the outside strengthens and empowers the pretty on the inside.

Iryna Korolenko
Founder and CEO of iSALON Beauty App
The founder of iSALON, a businesswoman and entrepreneur, fashion model and world-traveler, Iryna Korolenko is a portrait of the modern Renaissance woman. Born in Ukraine, she balanced passion and professionalism, ambition and sophistication from an early age, modeling internationally by 16 while prioritizing higher education. After receiving postgraduate degrees both in international economy and psychology, Iryna began a career working for global corporations, negotiating multi-million dollar contracts. By seamlessly navigating between the worlds of business and beauty, from airline to fashion runways, she has gained a worldview unique among her peers. Seeking new opportunities, Iryna packed a single suitcase and moved to the United States in 2014. Despite having no support network, she paved her way in an unfamiliar environment, and continues to trailblaze her singular career workingwith prominent designers and global brands both as a model and businesswoman. In boardrooms and at photo shoots, presentation matters, but it doesn’t have to be inconvenient. It was during a commute in traffic that Iryna realized it was smarter, safer, and simpler to have beauty services delivered directly to her door. Any modern professional will recognize the importance of quickly connecting with services wherever they are, whenever they are – and with iSALON, you can. Iryna is based in California but continues to pursue her passion exploring new places and meeting new people, always looking forward to new challenges and discovering innovative ideas.
