Vivek Garipalli
CEO of Clover Health
Vivek Garipalli is a leading international business expert with a focus on the healthcare industry. He has spent the majority of his career starting and developing pioneering healthcare businesses that improve the service patients receive. In fact, Vivek founded five healthcare companies before the age of 40. He has used this considerable experience in the field to co-found Clover Health, a disruptive company that aims to transform the healthcare structure for the better. Prior to establishing Clover Health, Vivek co-founded CarePoint Health in 2008, which is a vertically and horizontally integrated healthcare system in New Jersey. He has recently extended this venture with CarePoint Health Plans, a unique model in the health insurance space that concentrates on the Medicare Advantage Market. When Vivek Garipalli founded CarePoint Health and Clover Health, he saw there was a substantial misalignment between healthcare providers and insurance firms. Vivek intended to decrease doctor-insurer friction whilst increasing the visibility into the health of every patient. He realized that this would improve the service patients receive while making it more accessible. Very little had been done for the uninsured and underinsured patient groups, and Vivek wanted to change that trend. On top of Clover Health and CarePoint Health, Vivek Garipalli co-founded a healthcare services revenue cycle business called Ensemble health. He was also one of the founding investors of Flatiron Health, in which he took an active role on the board in guiding its strategy and growth, ending in its sale to Roche in 2018. Vivek also sits on the board for Doctor Evidence and Medically Home, two innovative companies within healthcare technology. Prior to his entrepreneurial work in healthcare, Vivek Garipalli began his career at Credit Suisse First Boston and following this he held a position at J.P.Morgan Partners’ private equity fund. He went on to work at the Blackstone Group, where his focus focused into restructuring and reorganizing in an advisory capacity. Vivek Garipalli started his journey in business at the University of Emory, where he studied business administration with a focus on entrepreneurship. On top of his successful career, Vivek has supported a number of charities, including The Bowery Mission, a charity that tackles homelessness in New York and Newark.
