Roy Patton comes to Howard Energy Partners with nearly 35 years of experience in the natural gas pipeline industry. His experience spans all aspects of commercial activities including gathering and processing, high-pressure transmission pipelines, business development, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining HEP, Patton was senior vice president of commercial operations at Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. (ETP), where his responsibilities included the management of approximately 7,500 miles of pipelines in Texas and Louisiana and more than 60 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage. Patton most recently oversaw ETP’s activities in Mexico and was responsible for creating approximately 1 billion cubic feet per day of new business and developing more than 300 miles of 42-inch pipeline with more than 2.5 billion cubic feet per day of capacity from the Permian Basin to Mexico.

Bill Yardley

Bill Yardley was named Enbridge’s executive vice president and president of Gas Transmission and Midstream on Feb. 27, 2017, with responsibility for all of Enbridge’s natural gas pipeline and midstream business across North America. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Spectra Energy Partners, and Chairman of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA). Mr. Yardley, based in Houston, was previously president of Spectra Energy’s U.S. Transmission and Storage business. Mr. Yardley joined the company in 2000 as general manager of marketing for Spectra Energy’s predecessor company, Duke Energy Gas Transmission. He later served as vice president of marketing and business development and as group vice president of the company’s Northeastern U.S. assets and operations. Mr. Yardley earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Colby College in Waterville, Maine and his master’s degree in business administration from Northeastern University in Boston. He also completed the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.

Todd Benson

Todd was the engineering manager for a directional drilling startup active in most North American drilling regions. He was responsible for quality control, improvement/failure analysis, and generation of differentiating IP including downhole mud motors and MWD components for extreme drilling environments. Prior to working in oilfield technologies, Todd served in many roles at Motorola/Freescale Semiconductor, from managing a worldwide operation P&L, to overseeing international application engineering teams focused on DSP, Coldfire and ARM platforms for consumer and automotive applications. He’s also worked with Texas Instruments on their laser printer and laptop computer product lines, developing new product electro-mechanical elements and supporting production sustaining efforts. Benson holds eight patents with five pending, and has written articles for EE Times and DSP Multimedia and Design. He earned a BS degree in Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
