Dr. Clark was an associate professor at Stanford University, received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Utah, and Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics from the University of New Orleans. In 1999, Dr. Clark donated the funds to create the James H. Clark Center for Engineering, Biology, and Computer Science (known as Bio-X) at Stanford, where he is presently a Consulting Professor. His main area of interest is Synthetic Biology.

Nadeem Ahmed

Dr. Ahmed most recently was at WiQuest Communications, the leading ultrawideband semiconductor supplier, where he was responsible for architecting, simulating and developing baseband and system level algorithms. Dr. Ahmed has spent time working with several research centers including Telecommunications Research Laboratories (TRLabs), Nokia’s R&D Center, and Texas Instruments DSP Solutions R & D center. His research interests lie in signal processing techniques for communications. He has worked on modulation, detection, equalization and power distribution techniques for both wireline and wireless applications. Dr. Ahmed received his B.Sc. degree from the University of Manitoba in 1998, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Rice University in 2000 and 2004, respectively. At Rice University he was a member of the Digital Signal Processing group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where he was a Texas Instruments Fellow and NSERC PGS A and B recipient.
