In the early 1990s, Thilo worked for an internal startup at Motorola, where he launched Motorola’s first consumer wireless “communicator” (the Envoy), and then launched Motorola’s first cable modem for broadband Internet access. In 1996, Thilo joined The Boston Consulting Group, focused on Consumer and Technology strategy, including projects in medical imaging, digital printing, and online retail. While at BCG, he helped launch Sotheby’s online auction business. Mark Lessing

Mark Lessing joined Insight in 2000 and is currently a Managing Director and the Chief Financial Officer. Mark serves on several of the firm’s executive committees and handles investor relations, including quarterly financial reporting, investor presentations, and communications to limited partners. He was integral to the firm’s efforts in raising its last several investment funds (totaling approximately $2.0 billion in 2011, $1.3 billion in 2007 and $0.7 billion in 2005). Ryan also works with Syncsort, a big data infrastructure company. Ryan oversaw Insight’s investments and subsequent acquisitions of Argus Software (acquired by Altus Group Ltd), Football Fanatics (acquired by GSI Commerce, now eBay) and Punch! Software (acquired by Navarre Corporation). Ryan works closely with the executive management of his investments and has stepped in as deputy-CFO on several occasions to help the teams. He leads Guggenheim’s effort in sourcing and structuring directly negotiated transactions for both middle market private debt investments and larger underwritten co-arranger transactions. Mr. McCurdy was previously Co-Head of Research and has been with Guggenheim Partners since 2004. In the course of his career, he has covered a range of industries including Telecom, Media, Technology, Healthcare and Aerospace & Defense. Mr. McCurdy continues to be active in Guggenheim’s European Lending business based in Dublin, Ireland, an office he helped establish from 2007-2009. Mr. McCurdy also coordinates a team in Mumbai, India that augments the group’s research efforts. Prior to his time in Dublin, he covered Gaming, Lodging, Leisure and Real Estate in the New York office. Mr. McCurdy received a B.A. in History from Williams College.

David was on the board of the Andor Capital Charitable Trust, whose mandate was to give away returns to September 11th causes after inadvertently profiting from a negative investment thesis as a result of the market downturn after 9/11. David has actively worked with Seeds of Peace graduates to try and maintain involvement of Seeds as they progress in their careers. He sits on the nominating committee.
