Eric Collins: Trackable IoT Delivers Database Management Software That Is Feature-rich and Rapidly Configurable for Each New Customer

April 21, 2022

Trackable IoT delivers database management software that is feature-rich and rapidly configurable for each new customer, and is integrated with a wide range of tracking and security technologies for the tracking, accountability and security of objects and people.

Tell us about yourself?

In the 1980’s I ran a company selling document management systems. Technology was hitting its stride at that time as well. In 1998, I introduced the first ever web-based file folder / document label printing system and captured #1 market share in USA. Everything I am doing today evolved from this beginning, which has culimated in Trackable IoT today.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Fight. Fight harder. Work. Work harder. Aspire to excellence. Aspire to be transformational.

What problem does your business solve?

Real-time access to object and people location, status and security data.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

RFID is a transformational technology…passively track objects and people real-time, from a distance. So, leapfrogging barcode technology. Now there are long-range technologies like LoRaWAN and BLE…there’s GSM and GPS…there’s 5G. These technologies, along with industrial automation sensors, that enable organizations to transform, to do better, to outperform competitors.

What is your magic sauce?

What makes Trackable IoT relevant or remarkable, is primarily that the software includes all of the features previously delivered for customers, rapidly configurable for each new customer. With state-of-the-art tracking and security technologies. Whereas Trackable IoT serves just about every industry and offers solutions for just about any application, we are world leaders in the tracking, accountability and security of weapons, gear and ammo.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

We will dominate the weapon management business. We will expand our specialization in the military and police sectors. We will continually integrate sensor, tracking and security technologies to remain on the cutting edge of capabilities in the global marketplace. We will be dominant with file / document managent systems. We will excel in the personnel mustering space. We will be competent and better and better at other sectors, such as asset management, port container tracking and other vertical markets.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Capital. With a capital ‘C’. We are self-funded without any external investments. So, we are moving more slowly than we would if we had adequate funding. But, I have built several businesses, and one way to do it is having income from existing business endeavors and to use those monies to create the new business independently. The world is moving fast, I mean fast, so, being limited by funds is maddening.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

Our audience is global. Our audience is primarily resellers of technology and/or weapon management products and services. Our website www.trackableiot.com provides a road map of what we offer and how our audience can engage with us.
