Texas Cybersecurity Startups 2026: Dallas Builds a $553M Cluster

Dallas has quietly built one of the country’s strongest cybersecurity startup clusters, with the city’s top 10 ranked companies raising $553 million between them, mostly at Series A and beyond. That’s part of a bigger wave: Dallas startups overall raised a record $1.6 billion in 2025, and cybersecurity has become one of the categories carrying that momentum into 2026.

Who’s Leading Dallas Cybersecurity

iCOUNTER, Conifers.Ai, and Adyton PBC lead Dallas’s 2026 cybersecurity ranking, in a field mostly built since 2009. Conifers.Ai is building AI-driven security tools aimed at business applications, part of a broader shift toward AI-native defense products rather than traditional rule-based security software. Meanwhile Island, a browser-security startup based in the Dallas area, has raised $810 million on its own — a single round bigger than the combined top-10 ranking, and a sign of how much capital concentration exists at the top of this market.

The New Wave Coming Out of Stealth

Not every notable raise is a mega-round. Cydelphi emerged from stealth with a $3 million seed round to launch its patent-pending AI-native digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) platform, aimed at helping security teams investigate breaches faster. That kind of early-stage activity matters for the health of the cluster: it shows Dallas isn’t just a place where already-large security companies happen to be headquartered, but a place where new ones are still getting started.

Why Dallas, Not Just Austin

Dallas-Fort Worth’s cybersecurity strength draws on the region’s dense corporate base — a disproportionate number of Fortune 500 back-office and IT operations are headquartered in the area, creating steady enterprise demand for security products close to home. That’s different from Austin’s startup scene, which skews more toward developer tools and consumer-adjacent software. For cybersecurity specifically, proximity to enterprise buyers is turning out to matter as much as proximity to engineering talent.
