Oprah Winfrey
Chairwoman & CEO of Oprah Winfrey Network
Oprah Winfrey is an American talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist. She is best known for her multi award willing talk show, The Oprah Winfrey show. She started at Nashville’s WLAV-TV and in so doing became the youngest news anchor at the station. In 1976, she moved to Baltimore’s WJZ-TV to co-anchor the six o’clock news. In January 1984, Winfrey moved to Chicago to host “A.M. Chicago” for WLS-TV. In less than a year, the show expanded to one hour and was renamed The Oprah Winfrey Show. In 1988, she established Harpo Studios, a production facility in Chicago, making her the third woman in the American entertainment industry (after Mary Pickford and Lucille Ball) to own her own studio. Oprah made her acting debut in 1985, when she starred in Steven Spielberg’s ‘The Color Purple’. Her performance in the film earned her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and nominations for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. Oprah Winfrey’s business interests have extended well beyond her own production company. She is one of the partners in Oxygen Media, Inc., a cable channel and interactive network presenting programming designed primarily for women. With her success, she has also become one of the world’s most generous philanthropists. In 2000, Oprah’s Angel Network began presenting a $100,000 “Use Your Life Award” to people who are using their own lives to improve the lives of others. She now publishes two magazines, O, The Oprah Magazine, and O at Home. The launch of her first magazine was the most successful start-up in the history of the industry. When Forbes published its list of America’s billionaires for the year 2003, it disclosed that Oprah Winfrey was the first African-American woman to become a billionaire. In a 2010 interview on the Larry King program at the end of that year, she announced her decision to end her run on The Oprah Winfrey Show. The final broadcast took place on May 25, 2011, after 24 seasons and over 5,000 broadcasts. The end of the syndicated program was not the end of Oprah Winfrey’s broadcasting career. She now hosts a nightly program, Oprah’s Lifeclass, on the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Brian Graden
Founder and CEO of Brian Graden Media
For generations of young people, the name Brian Graden might not ring a bell. A glance at his resume certainly will. This longtime production pacesetter has spent a career developing and fostering cutting-edge television as well as steering the programming divisions of major entertainment networks: with his talented hand, some of the most forward-thinking, edgy, and plain entertaining television of the past 25 years has come to life. His accomplishments each stand on their own as signposts of a career that’s anticipated every major turn. From his earliest days as a junior executive overseeing the trailblazing COPS and America’s Most Wanted, to his guiding hand in the development of South Park, to transforming the formerly staid VH1 into a pop culture powerhouse, Brian Graden’s work has consistently helped to define it’s time while also pointing to what’s next. During his time as MTV Networks President of Entertainment, he oversaw the creation of a new canon of young people’s programming with shows like TRL, Pimp My Ride, Punk’d, Jackass, Jersey Shore, and countless others. Striking out on his own, Brian started Brian Graden Media in 2013. BGM’s forays into the digital world have continued the success he started on television, garnering an Emmy award for the genre-bending interactive show HitRecord on TV, and developing a suite of YouTube Original programming and unconventionally fascinating cable shows, each tuned into what’s driving views and clicks in today’s evolving media landscape. With his track record, it’s hard to bet against BGM. It’s not entertainment alone that defines Brian Graden. A passionate advocate for equality, Brian personally spearheaded MTV’s Fight for Your Rights: Take a Stand Against Violence campaign while at the network. He’s been the recipient of numerous awards for his advocacy including the GLAAD Media Vito Russo Award for Excellence in Media, the EQCA Award for Commitment to Advancing LGBT Equality, and the Equality Forum’s National Role Model award. He’s also delivered keynote addresses at the Harvard Gay & Lesbian Caucus Annual Commencement, the Reaching Out MBA Conference, and the Cellcom Media Conference. When he isn’t working, Brian is an avid musician, having manned the keyboards for cover band Ace Oxygen and the Ozones in high school before turning his ambitions towards Hollywood. Today, his musical tastes are as varied and diverse as his shows’ audiences. Brian Graden currently lives in Los Angeles, California.

Mark Amin
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sobini Films
Mark Amin is an Iranian American motion picture producer, writer and distributor who has worked in mainstream and independent cinema for more than two decades. A graduate of the University of Kansas and UCLA’s Graduate School of Management, Amin first found his entrance into the entertainment industry in the area of video distribution. In 1981, Amin co-founded a Los Angeles video specialty store called 20/20 Video. 20/20 Video would go on to become one of the largest video specialty chains in Los Angeles and would inspire Amin to form his own distribution company, Vidmark Entertainment. Vidmark focused primarily on video releases and would soon assert itself as a pioneer in the burgeoning market of home video entertainment of the 1980s. In 1987, Amin acted on his desire to concentrate more on film production and co-founded the production company, Trimark Holdings. Serving as Chairman and CEO of Trimark, Amin lead the company through the production of a number of acclaimed releases, including Eve’s Bayou, starring Samuel Jackson, Return of the Living Dead III, and Leprechaun, starring a young Jennifer Aniston. In 2000, Trimark combined with another successful production company, Lions Gate Entertainment, in a merger that made Amin the single largest shareholder of Lionsgate, as well as its Vice Chairman. During Amin’s nine-year tenure at Lionsgate, Lionsgate was responsible for releasing memorable films like Monster’s Ball, which earned Halle Barry a Best Actress Academy Award, and Crash, which earned the Best Picture Academy Award. In 2002, Amin also executive produced Frida, which won two Academy Awards. In 2001, with the desire of producing specialized and mainstream films, Amin founded a new production company called Sobini Films. Sobini Films continues to serve as the focus of Amin’s film efforts and since its founding has released The Prince and Me, Peaceful Warrior, and the Sundance Award winner, Streets of Legend, among other features. Besides his film efforts, Amin is also active in other business and investment pursuits. Amin is an investor and member of the advisory board of EdgeCast, a content delivery firm which sold to Verizon in 2013 for $400 million. Amin is chairman and major shareholder of gymra.com, the popular fitness website and is also active in the development of almond and pistachio orchards in central California.
