Following SEEQ, Campbell founded and became Chairman and CEO of CHIPS and Technologies, the world’s first fabless semiconductor company. CHIPS and Technologies was instrumental in pioneering the PC-compatible computer marketplace that early customers such as Hewlett-Packard and Dell now dominate. As a result of his success at CHIPS and Technologies, Mr. Campbell was named Inc. Magazine’s 1989 “Entrepreneur of the Year”.
