Prior to founding Banyan, Jayanth worked at VMware where, along with a couple of colleagues, he started VMFork (Instant Clone) and Serengeti (Big Data) projects, and invented some of the key technologies powering vSphere Integrated Containers (VIC) and vSphere Big Data Extensions (BDE). He holds many patents and has published several papers in top tier conferences in the areas of distributed systems, virtualization, and security. He is also a recipient of several awards related to innovation throughout his academic and professional career. Jayanth received his PhD from the Computer Systems Lab. at Stanford University, MS from Univ. of Maryland, College Park, and BE from BITS, Pilani, India.
