Tell us about yourself?

I’ve been an insurance agent my entire professional career. I started when I was in college and then went to law school at the same time too. I’ve always wanted an option where I can help people and insurance was my outlet to do that. Professionals need help too!

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Don’t be shy about offering solutions that you know will fit. Many times others have not considered solutions that are outside of their wheelhouse.

What problem does your business solve?

We take a complex product, lawyers professional liability insurance, and simplify it by knowing the marketplace, knowing the players and being able to find the right product for the right law firm. Our independence and market access gives us a unique perspective that is otherwise nonexistent in the marketplace.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

My father started this agency in 2002 with no clients, no staff and only a vision that he could succeed in a marketplace that did not value its clients the way that L Squared did. That dedication led to 20 years of consistent growth and over 4000 law firms nationwide trusting our agency with its coverage.

We simplify a complex process and help our clients not have to worry about their professional liability insurance and focus on practicing law.

What is your magic sauce?

We have producers from all walks of life and we are all family. I mean that in the literal sense, I work with my wife, sister, father, brother-in-law, long time family friends. That and we are never satisfied with where we are, we always want to keep moving forward.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

To continue our growth and to hire and train the next generation of producers. There is much we can do to improve on our processes and better help our clients with their insurance needs.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

The continued turmoil in the professional liability insurance market continues to be our biggest challenge and our biggest opportunity. Insurance carriers leave the market all the time but our agency continues.
