Tell us about yourself?

My background brings a variety of experiences within with positions held in Operations, Sales Leadership, and Multiple Property representation. I’ve held roles with leading full-service hotels and focused service properties providing me the business acumen of strategizing for large properties as well as the hands on know-how to execute every detail needed to create a seamless event experience. Since leaving hotels I had the opportunity to move into a full-time role with an established Destination Management Company where I was able to further hone and sharpen these skills.

The development of these skills, passion for creating bespoke experiences, and knowledge I’ve gained made me decide that this was the line of work I wanted to be in and continue to grow with. In tandem, the realization while in hotels that we could be doing more with the opportunity of experiencing the surprise and delight from clients when we were able to inject that wow factor into their program really made me know I was choosing the right line of work.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Take the opportunity and jump sooner into the Destination Management Company role! It was something I delayed a bit due to the pandemic but should have embraced sooner.

However, the complexities of event planning – including logistics, content creation, attendee engagement, and overall management – can be overwhelming, particularly when these tasks are not within the company’s primary area of expertise or their team is stretched thin without the resources needed to dedicate the time solely on executing the event.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

The challenges are similar to all those that have faced the events industry. Whether COVID, economic uncertainty, or impacts of travel demand; they’ve all had an influence in the path leading up to the company’s formation and challenges we continue to face. The only way to move forward is to continue to the course and support our clients in creating memorable experiences.
