We are dedicated to the modernization of assessment with AI – making it easier to build high-quality exams for professional certification, education, and pre-employment.
Tell us about yourself?
I was originally a psychology major, but became interested in how technology and data science can improve how we obtain information about people.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
Trust your instincts about products. Remember that ones designed by you are successful and those conceptualized by others are not.
What problem does your business solve?
It’s hard to develop high-quality exams that meet international standards. We make it easier.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
I wanted to make it easier for exam developers and psychometricians to apply modern methods like item response theory and adaptive testing algorithms.
What is your magic sauce?
Anyone can build a simple exam platform with multiple choice questions. But can you implement machine learning models to automatically validate exams, catch cheaters, and personalize a test for each student?
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
Add more AI – automated essay scoring, automated standard setting, automated forensics, and more. I’m excited to provide more tools that the world’s best assessment organizations can use to improve their exams, with less effort.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
Trusting some people that should not have been trusted.
How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
We want to work with organizations which see the value of quality assessment – whether it is hiring employees, providing personalized feedback to students to maximize learning, or driving professional competencies. We love forming partnerships with other EdTech or HRTech organizations, especially those interested in AI or ML.
